Room Orientation

Your safety and comfort are very important to us.
-
Your hospital bed- your nurse will how you how to operate your bed. You can raise and lower the head and foot of your bed. Bedside rails are for your protection. They may be raised at night or during the day if you are resting or recovering from surgery or taking certain medications.
-
Calling your nurse- To call your nurse, press the nurse button on your call light/TV remote when you need assistance. An emergency call light is located in the restroom should you need assistance. Do not get out of your bed or chair without the help from the staff.
-
Room temperature- the temperature in your room can be adjusted. If your room temperature is not comfortable, please notify the nursing staff.
-
Valuables- family and/or support members are encouraged to take valuables (such as jewelry and wallets) and your own medications home. Personal items, such as hearing aids, dentures and eyeglasses, can be used during your hospital stay based on your preference. The facility is not responsible for any personal items left at the bedside. NEA Baptist does have a safe that you can utilize for valuable belongings. For utilization of the safe, please contact a member of the nursing team.
-
Leaving your room/unit- it is important to check with your nurse before leaving the unit. There may be important medications or treatments scheduled that we do not want you to miss.
